Review: An amazing result for the 1st XI against a very strong opposition showed once again that, on their day, the girls can compete with any opponents. Already down to 12 players with the absence of 3 players, the 1st XI were reduced to an 11 strong squad when Amy Stewart went off injured. Hattie Holmes moved from centre forward to makeshift left back and looked immediately at home. Sevenoaks had much of the first half and created numerous chances. Their profligacy nearly cost them the result as tiredness from the midweek cup competitions set in for both sides. Felsted grew in strength as the game went on and confidence rose as they began to nullify the Sevenoaks attacks. In the closing stages of the game, Anna Stonham broke down the right, the cross rolled across the face of the goal past the goalkeeper and Felsted were just unable to get the last touch into the open net. Through sheer weight of numbers the result was fair. The Felsted girls should be commended for the great heart and team spirit that the XI showed.
